Two engine swaps and a gearbox change can't stop NP Racing at Cadwell Park

Cadwell Park's Round 8 of the ZYN British Superbike Championship was as demanding as ever — the circuit doesn't leave much room for error, and this weekend tested the team on every front.

FP1 on Friday was a good first session in sketchy conditions, and not far off where the team needs to be. Bike and crew were working well together, with a short break before heading straight back out for FP2.

Saturday brought technical problems in qualifying, forcing a trip back to the garage to resolve the issue. The team worked hard to get the bike sorted and back on the grid for Race 1 — a real show of effort under pressure. Attention then turned to regrouping and preparing for Sunday's races.

Sunday started with an overnight gearbox change, and it paid off — warm-up saw the team go quicker than at any other point in the weekend. The sprint race got off to a good start, but a couple of small mistakes cost the group and dropped the pace, with the bike coming home in 17th for another finish on the board.

Race 3, the last outing of the weekend, saw the crew pull something out of the bag with the set-up. A strong start was undone by a fuel pump issue that forced a retirement.

All in all, a positive weekend for the team despite the setbacks — two engine swaps and a gearbox replacement across three days, and not a single complaint. Everyone pulled together to get the job done.

Cadwell Park is a reminder of just how quick and precise you need to be in BSB.
